Smart shot

Any one using this product?
Its not cheap at a pound a ml
Claims of cover of cobalt and selinium for 4 months with half ml to 4 week old lambs sounds tempting.
It's a kiwi product andneeds veterinary prescription

Are you on a different product? Just B12.

We use a reasonable amount (need an import licence) and have had some excellent results.

@GTB did you see this? I think my numbers are too low to buy a pack but I would much rather inject than bolus and starts so young as well. Despite the investment in all the bolus gear last year I think I'll talk to the vets - maybe get a group of us together for next year if only to do lambs than bolus when bigger if still on farm.

I absolutely hate bolusing which is why we are trying applying the trace elements to the land. We have treated a third of the grazing land (but did 50% of the worst affected blocks of land). I'm expecting to see some improvement this summer but it stands to reason that the whole farm will need treating before we can stop bolusing and or drenching. Even at a pound per ml the smartshot sounds viable compared to drenching which only lasts days or couple of weeks at best.

Anyone else managed to get hold of this product? I suggested it to my vet who’s done a bit of digging. Virbac wont entertain speaking to them about it for some reason or giving them any info. I see you have @bovine has anything changed in the last couple years?

Ive ordered some via our local vet but don't need it until May so haven't chased it up. Not been told of any issues but will double check. Our vet was piggy-backing onto another vet's order apparently.

I know we’re opposite ends of the country but my vet would like to speak to another practice who are managing to getting hold of it/using it. Would that be at all possible?
