Did you get the soil from the field yourself?Just had 11 samples done by Anglian Soils - £9.50/sample, + postage
Sorry, yes, took samples ourselves and bagged up, filled in lab form etc. Posted off to AS and they did the rest + emailed results. Lab form is on their websiteDid you get the soil from the field yourself?
What are you paying for soil sampling at the moment?
I'm really looking at the cost of basic soil sampling and subsequent analysis, so 25 cores taken and bagged up as one sample for analysis. Soil P, K & Mg indices and pH on lab report.
Any help much appreciated, thanks.
Basic is all that's needed to comply with the new 'Farming Rules for Water'. No more and no less!! P, K, Mg and pH.Basic isnt good enough. Need the next one up, basic plus(???) Or just do broad spectrum.
Wish I could have sold basics for 18 quid each.

Yes I know some farmers down in East Anglia who did that, problem was that the water company then got the farmer to sign a contract to take the biosolids subject to the soil results being ok! Think the cost to the water company (WC) was something like £95 per sample and that was per 5ha. Think the WC wised up pretty quickly to speculative farmers.Key is to apply for spreading biosolids. Get the water company to pay for the full suite including heavy metals
Yes, but when you've had no clue for years about your soil nutrient status and have just applied the same old compound the step up to basic soil analysis and integrated nutrient planning is a big one! A step in the right direction and leading to more detailed understanding of nutrients and soil...Leaving you in the dark regarding several other key plant and animal nutrients.

Not me.ill give you a call after harvest for my 3yearly checkSo, am I right in thinking there is lots on here that consider spending between £10 and £20 per field, every 4 years to get a snapshot of the nutrient status, feel that it's too much money?
