I have a couple and are really good , they are on away blocks.of land and I just leave them there all The time , one has been about 5years without being switched off and still working

great things we've 2 that are on off lying ground you'd have to be careful if you want to use them for break fences don't think they'd last in quad bike tub bouncing up and down tracks but left in one place it moved occasionally they are brilliant

don't put them in sight of roads or footpaths as they have a habit of walking

Only issue we have had is the plastic does seem to get brittle quickly. They are very reliable, though be careful with any earthing. It will soon overwhelm the solar output especially in winter.

I got a good deal on hotline air alkaline batteries , last about 3 months
I'd rather that , than lumping gurt tractor batteries to and from fences and chargers

Have a couple of 702's and a couple of 705's, solar fencers. Couple of them must be over five years old. Never had to replace a battery.
Handier to move around than holding an old tractor battery on the quad bike rack.

Have a pel 705, it's a pain in the arse, turns itself off with no warning, doesn't recharge well even in summer. Got some hotline fire drakes, much better, tell you if theyre getting low, and come with a charger to top up in winter, stronger built too.

I’m not keen on the hotline ( I think) it has the live on/off switch and earth all near the same place under the unit where you can’t see so if you position your hand wrong you get a shock

Gallagher S100
Very impressive solar energiser, with 0.74 output joules a little more power that the Pel705 (0.5 joule)
Comes with a 7 year warranty and can be picked up for less £ than the Pel

I think Gallagher have the best range of all-in-one solar energiser on the market, they really are very good units.

Edit: just seen you've ordered a Pel...

I did look at this one but I tried speaking to someone on the phone line couple times but kiwi kit answered got the sale. If we get on with it we run half a dozen units so will look again
