you know, you Poms, all you have to do is pull the rear tub of your double cab utes & put a tray on

we can buy double cabs as a cab chassis, but some of the higher spec ones only come with the tub. Practically every double cab sold as a farm or tradies ute is a tray top. You wander round the back of any Toyota dealer & they've always got a heap of surplus tubs that have been replaced with aftermarket locally built trays

Bronco trays in Bathurst did mine and it’s great. Would definitely consider having one sent over

Same goes the other way too, it's quite good to see what we do from your perspective much of the time

I particularly like the "it's raining" reports because it is finally tipping down here, proper fecking rain, not just teasing us
Make your grass grow now
Not sure how much we have had in the last few weeks but it's stupid wet now
Ewes are soon coming in to lamb and it will be good to get them of the land
Then some say anyone can keep cattle out all year
Anyone can spout bloody rubbish to

I can tell you how much we've had for the last 6 weeks, half an inch, it was just about getting to the point of having to offload.

They declared a drought, and as happened in Westland the day after we have a good rain event.

Drought relief isn't just for farmers but all businesses which is good, just tax relief so if for example we sold all our stock we could roll the tax over for a year til we restocked - little stuff like that can be the difference between still farming or going belly up.

So here's hoping we soon get some feed back, as the soil is up in the 20° range it should hopefully soon make up for a few months off.

How many sheep/ac can you run, where you are, at this time of year?
On a normal year, what you've had looks mental (and I'm on cloud cuckoo)

They seem adverse to using the "d" word here now. I think its because then govt is expected to trot out the usual series of subsidies and handouts. I still think they have dropped the ball on preventative measures. They tried a few years ago with changing the tax status on capital improvements like silos and haysheds. But I don't think it still applies....so back to writing them off over 25 years rather than 2 to 3. Having said that if people are to lazy to help themselves......currently have 8 big hay sheds nearly all built by dad or myself and all under old tax rules. Try to have enough hay on hand for 2 full years of feeding.
