Southern hemisphere forum friends

Ironic how so many descendents of immigrants here are viciously "anti immigrant" today

What actually constitutes "native British" anyway? We are a mongrel nation with a horribly short memory.
:eek:Mate , the next thing you will be saying is " The British went everywhere in the last 400 years, all over the world, and now the ones left behind have the audacity to complain when people from around the world want to immigrate to the UK!!!":wideyed: Where is the "smiley face" for run like hell!!!?

Had an old German that farmed across the road from us. He came with his brother post ww2. He had been in the hitler youth as an apprentice mechanic. Never forget one day he was telling me that they were given trucks to fix up and he said his was the best mechanically. But then they had to paint them and he said "oooh oooh oooh mine was no good" I said never mind Joe they would have all looked the same when the Americans dropped a bomb on them...

I once saw a fella wearing that exact outfit leaving a brothel :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I hope it wasn't you? ;) Secret's safe with me, if it was..... but I do remember it quite clearly.
How NZ is that, he even got into a Hilux....
We were boozing in a bar across the road and most of us had a pretty good laugh!

I think the best comment was: "he must have got paid for his wool"

Just been reading back on this thread, and the way in which pommie immigrants arrived in Aus is interesting to me. We only found out a few years ago that we have more relations of our family in Aus than here, a lot involved in farming still maybe around Kojonup WA, and plenty spread all over and in USA. We have only met one of them though! but have been in contact over the family tree. The mystery is the link of the man who landed in Melbourne and who they have traced back to there, but I still haven’t found the connection here. Whether he took ship as crew then did a runner to the hills in the Gold Rush, or if he was a convict, we just don’t know.
