Is that the one in the metal case? If so I bought one from them over 20 years ago. The common sizes have long since been replaced as you might expect. The holders weren't much cop but the amount of times that set has gotten me out of trouble has more than paid for itself many times over

Yes good set I am on my second set first set I bought second hand and used a lot until it got destroyed in a fire then replaced with a new set which I still have and it is as AJR75 says a good set and has also rescued me numerous times well worth the money

Same experience as everyone above.

You wouldn't want to be cutting new threads with it every day but for farm use (mainly cleaning up damaged threads etc) it's a very useful set to have.

I don’t have the Spaldings set but have a couple of sets very similar, one must be getting on for 20 years old now.
As a few people have said, they’re fine for cleaning up the odd thread but wouldn’t want to cut new with them!
Ive slowly replaced the usual culprits m8, 10, 12 etc with Dormer or Osborn. I try and get a starter intermediate and plug when I upgraded. You can tell the difference with a quality tap!

The difference is cheap one's are carbon steel, good one's high speed steel, as stated carbon one's most time's will get you out of trouble but for cutting thread's hss, not cheap but............

It’s HSS and most of the metric sizes you’re likely to need on a farm. You’d be paying twice that for new and it didn’t look like it had done much.
