Sporting rights

Hey all! I’m posting in the hopes that someone here will be willing to offer up some sporting/shooting rights, either for general help around the land including qualified trades of bricklaying and carpentry, or at a price for the year. I’m based in the West Midlands but willing to travel. I’m struggling with permission at the minute so if anyone can help out I would be extremely grateful! I shoot shotguns and air rifles with means of no trace of being there and shoot by your rules!
thanks for reading and hopefully I’ll be talking to some of you soon

When you say sporting rights, are you thinking of putting pheasant's down or just do some rough shooting / pigeons etc. big difference between what your expected audience and price bracket will be.

im based down south so no help but if your putting pheasants down you’ll need deep pockets, going rate is about £11/ac that you want to shoot over (down here anyway). Where as if you want to rock up and clear some pigeons off most farmers let you on FOC, it’s just customary to give a bottle at Christmas and offer them some birds if they want them.

Is that what the feckers charge?

£11 per acre to do £100 per acre damage.

I'm normally pro landlord but the game bird thing should be banned if the tenant dosen't want it.

I’m looking for a bit of rough shooting, pigeons, rabbits, crows, general pest control really

To be honest you shouldn’t be paying. You’re providing a pest control service.
I’ve been door to door already and no one is interested with people already shooting there. Shooting is a passion of mine so I’m willing to sweeten it up that bit more to help secure somewhere, yet still no joy

No idea with landlords. I’m meaning private shoot syndicates on farms.

for example 500 acres arable cropping with a small woodland, total 510 acres. (Foot access only from main farm yard!!)

510x£11 = £5610 PA (paid in advance) with the shoot syndicate to provide any feed, sundries and pens. Also 2 free days shooting and free peg days if they get a no show or not a ‘full’ team

Good luck, you sound genuine enough. You’d be surprised how far and wide this group spreads, and who is lurking under all the aliases.

I’m not sure if that was a “someone here might help you out” or “there are some scumbags on here” 😂 but thank you I appreciate it. All I’ve got so far from asking around is Scotland, so I think I might be in for some long journeys at this rate

Wait till after the watershed; you’ll need your TFF approved stab proof vest and gum shield. 😆

In todays world we have to know who is on our land. Most odd pigeon days are carried out by shoot beaters if really necessary. The odd estate comes up from time to time to let out its land for a keeper to run it and then days let to syndicate guns.£ 50.00 per bird is talked about for this season around here.Dont expect to be welcomed by cold calling onto farms. Start by beating and or picking up and get to know your chosen area/people,then in the future you may strike lucky.

£50 per bird!? this must be for a driven shoot right? I’m looking for more pest control shooting, pigeons, rabbits, rats… that kind of thing

I was kindly invited shooting the other day, all guns had a overnight stop in a grand house, dinner the evening before and lunch during the day ,drinks etc and a great shoot of 600 plus birds.
I shot the one day but the chap took 4 days with all guns staying at the Manor house.
I dread to think how much it cost for the 4 days and the accommodation.I suspect they shot between 2000 and 2500 birds in total.
