Sprayer hydraulics problem

New to me 25year old sprayer
Every now and again a service will stop working
Tractor is straining and the other 3 spools function as normal
Had it the other day with the boom locks, they wouldnt unlock
Tractor straining with switch both directions
In the end I stopped the pipes over to unlock and carry on
Tonight now the main lift has stopped liftingsame symptoms tractor straining every other function working

getting a pain in the arse

When it happens If you unplug the control box do the hydraulics stop straining? It will tell you whether the fault is an electrical issue or a fault in the valve block.

It's not electric its hydraulic something

Check for corrosive under the solenoids and they aren’t over tightened, it can make the pin stick. After that it’s going to be a case of stripping the block and checked for and scores or tight spots on the spools. If I remember right there’s not a lot in there to be honest although I haven’t stripped that exact valve block but they’re all pretty much the same.

i got fed up with relying on solenoids to operate boom folding so took out the hydraulic electric control box and rigged up hydraulic boom pipework direct to tractor. The boom tilt is a bit aggressive though.

From the pictures you have 3 double acting services and one single acting. There seems to be a spare valve and if it's the same as the others you could use it to help find the fault. Also what are the valves under two of the main valves they look like pilot operated check valves?

Problem solved
It was electric connection issues on a plug

Theres 4 DA spools on it plus 1 activation solinoid
Activation was making the tractor labourbut the dodgy contact not working the spool

There was a plug n socket joint by the drawbar

Un plug /un screw electrical block on solenoid then check wires in block as one may of come off.
Happened to me the other day.
Also does the section playing up work when you swap a Solenoid block over from a good working section
