Situation Vacant Sprayer & lead machinery operator- Northern Lincolnshire

Due to a planned retirement in 2024, we have an opportunity for a skilled operator to join a small and tight knit team working on a farming business in northern Lincolnshire. The primary responsibility for the successful candidate will be that of the application of liquid fertiliser and agrochemical inputs onto a range of crops over 1250 Ha with a 6000 litre Challenger self propelled sprayer. The current incumbent also operates our Challenger crawler, however the new role will not find itself limited by expectation, and new skills brought into the team may change how we operate at different times of the year. The farms run mixed cropping of roots, combinables and energy crops, store all farm grown produce in house and we have several differing income streams aside to farming that will provide a very mixed and interesting position for the successful candidate.
Requirements for application, assuming legal right to work in the UK would be;

PA 1, PA 2a, expectation that when we are busy there is a job to be done, often at some relatively unsociable hours, a good number of years of relevant experience under your belt, mechanical skills, relatively up to date training record on farm plant and 'can do' attitude with a good team outlook, which will be reciprocated.

Advantageous skills would be;

Crawler H licence, chainsaw, full training suite on farm and construction plant, fabrication and advanced workshop skills etc

This operation is run as part of a much larger business, and at times there are crossovers between the estates.

On offer is a full time position, with room to expand your skillset within a large farming organisation. Accommodation would be made available to the successful candidate in time. Start date is quite flexible, but initially I am thinking spring 2024.

If you think this may be of interest to you, in the first instance drop me a message and tell me a bit about yourself, what you do/have done and more importantly-what you would like to be doing! Speak soon
