Spring Beans

last year because of the wet early april I planted beans later than I would have liked
but will not plant spring beans in march if bg is in the field heavier land can produce good yields from april planting on uncultivated land
for late planting cultivations that dry out the soil reduce yield

Is it too late for spring beans?
Earliest I could get them in would be end of next week. Heavy ground North Staffordshire.
Nowhere near to late (within reason), everyone seems to think they need to be in the ground in Feb for some reason, surely they are best planted into warm soils with a bit of moisture, obviously might be a fine line with cultivated soils before loosing to much moisture but its only just stopped raining in most places from what I've seen/read? Mine aren't drilled yet, might start later this week. Ground still plenty wet, though its drying nicely.

PGRO say to aim for late Feb sowing... if possible

LOL, coming back to Earth from the planet Venus, spring beans will not be drilled down here for a while yet, will take an act of God to see them drilled in the second half of March. Had they been drilled 3-4 weeks ago they would now probably be dead from frost or drowning or both! Some of the kinder land might be do-able about now I guess.

Done ours yesterday, not particularly pretty in places but from experience on this land they don't yield if drilled late
