Wiggle it, you need to lift the end of it up over the end of the engaging fork. Push it in slightly and get the end that's still in the starter as high as possible before withdrawing.

Good luck finding a replacement theres loads of different ones all look the same on the Lucas starters and then theres the cheapo copies.

I might have a new 2.8kw iskra starter depending which side of engine your starter is on? That I want rid off as I no longer want to stock it as selling the 3.2kw and 4.2kw gear reduction unit now instead which are way better fro the machines I work on. Nothing wrong with the 2.8kw just not man enough for handlers would work just fine on a MF590. £100 plus vat

Edit Scratch the above its a IS0526 I have but you want the other hand which I think I have already sold all the old stock.

I think your tractor would have a Lucas M50 coming out of the factory (motor = 5 inches in diameter)
or the smaller M45 (motor 4.5 inches in diameter), cant remember which.
As you know when fitting the new solenoid both large terminals are not the same, so fit the terminal with the small soldered tab onto the wire coming out of the starter motor. The terminal going to the battery will not have a solder tab for the small solenoid wire (wire going into the solenoid cap).

Bottom terminal has solder tab so connects to starter motor.
Top terminal had no tab so connects to the battery.
Small M5 goes to key/starter switch

This is not your starter, but it will show you how the clip holds the "piston" in place.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
