Same here miles of road locally at the 4x4 only stage, shame 20 years ago we had some of the best roads.
When's the Newtown bypass going to be finished?
All unemployed under 50 years old should have to work 3 days a week helping sort the roads out, pickings up litter and strimming grass and hedge sides and cleaning road signs etc if they would like dole money. Money for nothing eh,? Who the feck ever thought that up? Labour I bet? Bring back work houses cause maybe the schools wouldn't be full as what other things do these people get up to but breed more!!!!!Our roads locally are an utter disgrace.Potholes, disintegrating verges, broken road signs ,and I could continue. We manage to contribute £ 18 Billion to our overseas aid budget, whilst our own society & infrastructure crumbles before our very eyes.
why only 3 days, 6 and a sunday morning same as them that pay tax.All unemployed under 50 years old should have to work 3 days a week helping sort the roads out, pickings up litter and strimming grass and hedge sides and cleaning road signs etc if they would like dole money. Loss of the parish lengths man who used to keep on top of drains and ditches, trimming bit etc. wouldn’t of helped things.
We’ve a part of road that’s a back road but of a rat run so gets used fair bit. And when ever there’s lots of rain a bit for 50 yards floods, fine in my disco but our combo work van it effects the clutch used to be solid next morning even tho it’s parked in the dry, but recently old mans had it where he can’t change out of gear on the journey home!
Feel like digging out the hedge, field is well below the road.
So yes the roads are in a state pot holes soon get washed/worn out...
Yeh, and that new road goes nowhere! I drove on it a couple of times and it’s an incomplete ring road! Utterly pointless!! Good job you came to Lamma Day 1!Not much chance of road repairs in norfolk after northern distributer road went over budget by £16m.council have said they now have no money.bloody contractirs quoted so should stick to it.
Nick...
what do you expect when roads designed for horse and cart now carry all that traffic .knock the bends off and put some overtaking lanes in
That picture wants sending to the council, and/or local paper (with the no fly tipping sign in shot)View attachment 623520
That’s a pic of a lay-by on way to our other farm 13 heaps of new tarmac been dumped, such a waste when a mile either side of that lay-by there are plenty holes that could’ve been filled with it, ironically there is a sign saying no fly tipping just to the side [emoji849]

About 20 years time I expect. They never seem to be too busy whenever I go past.
I do feel for local residents but both the bypass and the bridge are badly needed and 25 yrs overdue imo.Was next spring, but someone said they've brought it on to the end of the year now. I do know that they're ahead of schedule, which is surprising considering who's building it. Trouble is, the bypass will come to an end and dyfi bridge will be starting, so a sh!t load of stone going down the road again.
Yes it’s the most ridiculous road ever.cant beleive the council let it happen.have read in press about a viaduct over the valley connecting back to a47 but will never happen.all the small roads are now rat runs id imagine and the edges are getting destroyed and pot holes getting bigger, etc, etc.was planning a second day at Lamma but glad I didn’t go.good to meet upYeh, and that new road goes nowhere! put it on Northumberland news desk FB page and raised quite a few commentsThat picture wants sending to the council, and/or local paper (with the no fly tipping sign in shot)
Can't dispute that, but if they had someone with a bit of sense, maybe even a monkey, in charge in Powys, they could of secured some extra money from the assembly for each job to make good of the local infrastructure after each job.
