Static build up

I have recently been getting static shocks when opening tractor door from the inside. Claas Ares 567 2007. No real pattern re after roadwork or in field. Anyone any bright ideas please

do you wear a shell suit or similar synthetic materials to work?

could be stemming from your clothes when seated, controls all plastic, floor mat rubber, static builds then earthing out on metal doorframe when you touch it.

I know if I remove my Umbro trackie bottoms in a hurry in the dark, it’s a sight to see........?

Getting plenty of static shocks at the moment, something I never do, few twisters about here too, reckon it must me weather related.

Past 3/4 weeks I’ve been static shocking all the time poor cat doesn’t want anything to do with me now! I thought maybe the hot weather? Felt like it’s needed to thunder here to clear the air. Dunno if it was a gimmick but years ago they sold a rubber strip that you bolted to the chassis and it dispelled the static onto the road?

1 way of reducing static is to have a chain on the ground off the tractor, a lot of combine drivers do this so that the dust doesn’t stick to the combine as bad.

I think if I find myself in a position to see said “ sight” then I feeI will have to seriously consider my life choices ?

no no, seriously, try it.

hairy legs plus a pair of those twin skinned jogging bottoms. Removed at speed it’s like St. Elmo’s fire down there!?

It's the dry weather, I got it bad visiting New Hampshire, winter time, every car was like grabbing the electric fence, in my mother in laws home there they keep a pan of water boiling away on the stove to keep moisture in the air, the kids hair is sticking straight out.

I got a shock from tractor and spreader the other day, and when fert bag was emptied it was raising my hair as I brushed against it to shake out the remaining prills.
