Hi,
Looking at getting a steel building (STP) but getting very confused from the quotes.
Building required as vehicle storage and workshop so think this is classed as industrial (more than 2 hrs in it)rather than agricultural, located in Worcestershire. Got quoted on a slightly insulated version with 40mm walls / roof with skylights.
Had a few quotes but not sure about what is a good spec or not, some state tex screwed in parts, others say for quality must all bolted etc etc.
Seems that there are a lot of people wanting to supply but fewer that actually make the buildings so a lot must be peddling the same manufacturer product. Happy to pay on going forward for the plans for planning submission but some seem to want quite a lot for these what's reasonable?
Anyone known as good, manufacturer, company etc any good advice or tips on picking a good one.
Also base laying, i want a suitable base for a 13 x 14m build, mix and reinforcement to take 5.5 tonne. One quote so far for from a building company:
"a 200mm deep slab (concrete grade C28/35), with two layers of A252 mesh and 200mm of compacted crushed stone sub-base",
but its nearly as much as the building
Anyone any idea of the groundworks cost for the above slab spec, obviously the groundworks will involve extras, smooth finish, hardcore surround for construction etc etc but what would a reasonable slab cost be for the above spec?.
Any advice, tips, recommendations gladly accepted.
Many thanks
