Steel sizes for bridge

Hi all , does anyone know what steel sizes I would need for a 8m span bridge ,
Possibly using 4 RSJ'S and concrete pannels for deck and to carry around 18 tonne ?
Thanks

Get a structural engineer to spec one, might be £500 to £1000 pounds but money well spent as a straightforward task. Steel sizes debates on here will give you a a vast amount of variations. If you cant work out what you need pay someone that does - they will also have insurance if it goes wrong.

Just over two meters wide, four foot clearance, five 9 by 6 RSJs topped with 4 inch thick concrete panels & oak beams for the look, strong brook off Dartmoor,
What I did was go & measure the next bridge downstream & use that as a guide for the clearance you need.

I used a 20' x 4' steel pipe for a large brook ,it sometimes floods a good 10' above it but its been fine for the last 23 years.

Do check that EA haven't quietly designated your brook as a "Main River" as they have ours. Seems to count for nothing that it is only 4ft wide, and almost dries up in Summer.
That restricts what you can do on the banks and floodplain enormously.
