Never used or seen one of these up close, how exactly do they work? And how is the seed rate adjusted? I have a chance to buy one fairly cheap but has no drive motor and no control box.

Would this be able to be converted to a land wheel style drive? I’m thinking of making a small grass seed drill for re doing some paddocks.

We have one with radar and electric motor drive but they can be driven with a wheel and chain

It's a little box drill hopper in essence. No doubt you could rig up a fairly accurate system off an old bicycle frame with gears if you didn't want a controller/motor setup. You ought to get a copy of calibration chart really, you need to find out flow rates on kg/revolution before you set to it.

As said before, try and get a calibration chart, the rest is pretty simple. Hunts have a complete one for sale, very helpful bunch, I'm sure they would photograph the charts. My apv seeder runs quite low rpm on grass/clover, 23rpm at 10kph I believe, might be a help getting yours roughly geared right
