Stop and look !

Stood on high point of the farm amongst the heifers this morning and had one of those all too rare moments when my mind was open and I “saw” where I live.

Absolutely amazing and beautiful.

The autumn colours starting, crystal clear air, a view for miles.

Its so rare that I truly appreciate where I live ,what I take for granted, just how blessed we are, I’m normally so wrapped up in the issues of the moment I just don’t see it.

My dad has a pal who lives in local town, he comes up sometimes and watches the work going on - every time he does he tells us how lucky we are to live here.

We usually just laugh and point out at 400ft above sea level and 350ft above his town no one is sending out St Bernard’s with brandy barrels to rescue us and the Spar shop is at the end of his street.

This year especially hit him hard as he has health issues and had to self isolate and he was going off his tits stuck in his house.
It quickly turned into a Ghetto type of situation for him.

He came up here and walked the lanes out of sight and contact of other people, he was usually so happy he was almost in tears truth be told, so yea - there isn’t much money in the job but rewards can come in other ways we usually fail to appreciate.

Make the most of it, there will be an environmentalist along just now to tell you how you’re destroying the planet.😜

Sometimes just 5 mins to stop in a gateway and breathe.

Seeing as we don’t know where you’re referring to as no location given , we’ll just have to take your word for it (y)

Took this the other morning and thought to myself “It’s going to be a fine day”
One gets blaise seeing the Snowdonia range day in day out

We've a bloke that's done a bit of shooting for years lives in local town, he's retired from the council job he had. His step daughter that he brought up died of a brain hemmoridge, he has terminal bowel cancer. He's just got an air rifle now but he is up most days, sometimes with his wife just sitting on a nice place next to the woods on our farm enjoying the peace and quiet. (I don't think he shoots much at all) the beauty of the place relaxes him and his wife I think.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
