Just had my return. Seeing market reports makes me wonder if I should sell them as stores. Or is it just market report bull sh!t?

They would make £1100 at sedgmoor I would of thought.
Buy to be fair they are only 20 months old so haven't done to bad at all.
What would 20 month old in calf heifers be worth ? About the same?

Haven't tried them for a while. Was disappointed last time I used them
Pretty sure we were on 357 for a R last week. Plus the 5p for being in the weight range. Must be good sorts to get an R and a 4H at 20 months, galling to give away meat at 4H though. It depends what you've paid to get them fat as to whether you should have sold them as stores. You must have given them some decent grub to get them fit at those weights.

They're reared indoors to 5/6 months, have a summer at grass and 1.5kg of cake/barley, stepped up to 5kg October at grass then tmr with, hay, silage and 8kg of alkagrain until April when I ran out and they went on to finishing cake gradually getting up to ad lib for the last month. First time I've done it this way usually out winter first year then grass second summer and finish them at 24-30 months in second winter

Dear or dear where to start:(:(

Fri steers are best sold fat but you MUST get weight on them and they need to be 660/700 kilos liveweight when sent deadweight, easy to average £1150/1200 dead for Fri steers on the current fat trade if fhinshed correctly.

I buy Forward FRi stores as they are generally very cheap for the weight they carry and easy to clear £100 net profit on them in 120 days and if you buy 500 kilo ones then its easy if feed correctly to double your money in 4 months.
