Stores or finish? Friesian steers

guth can you rise to the challenge and put a recent kill sheet of yours on here, because you make the rest of us feeding black and whites sound like crap farmers

No idea how to put a pic of a kill sheet on here but when it rains and I get 5 mins ( as flat out on silage/ hay at the moment ) I will happily put up a post with grades etc of my Fri cattle.

But that is on a rising trade so does not count. You couldn't replace them for £1/kg.
500 kg Fresians would be £750 now and with zero chance of doubling themselves.

Not that I could as I cant get a buying licence  it would have been possible to have bought Fri steers at sedge on Sat that would nearly double their money in a few months.

I find on my diet that steers 600+ kilos will put on 2 kilos head a day easily ( not possible on barley mind ) since I changed the diet growth rates have massively improved beyond my expectiations.

Would love to know what the new diet is.

Why not had some make 1450 a few weeks back and that was at £3.52 kg

Think we were talking about strong stores, 120 day cattle. Of course anything can double itself if bought young enough or kept long enough up to a point. Try turning a 500 kilo Frisian steer into an 800 kg one in 120 days and let me know how you get on. Even better, buy it for 150 pence per kilo and sell it for 187 pence. You would be a cattle finishing legend.

Some of us have real work to do, no way in hell you would keep up with the hours/ workload iv got at the moment that I can be sure of!

Work smarter not harder ;)

PM me your mobile number and I'll come down and do a free time and motion study for you, see if we can streamline your operation and reduce the amount of hours you need to work?

I think certain people on here look at kill sheets and have very good recollections of the best one or two and maybe forget some of the others that make a true average which is what really counts. It's saving me money though I don't have to buy a pint to listen to pub talk on here

Tragically this is the full extent of my social life...
