Far far to light to be sending them
Does st merryn not pay as well for friesians?
£40/head haulage?! The price paid per kg looks as good as anywhere but you have big deductions wherever in Africa you send them to [emoji848]

Surly it's a job to get the weight on if you haven't got the frame to carry it. Wouldn't British friesians be smaller than a Holstein friesian probably get more weight on hf but not grade as well.
I always put the sire on passports to show they are real friesiansEasy to get BF to 650 liveweight.
Only Fri cattle that don't get pass 560 kilos is the ones out of NZ type mongrel cows.
I thought that stores have been off the scale? Please tell us all about these "double your money" cattle.Dear or dear where to start
Fri steers are best sold fat but you MUST get weight on them and they need to be 660/700 kilos liveweight when sent deadweight, easy to average £1150/1200 dead for Fri steers on the current fat trade if fhinshed correctly.
I buy Forward FRi stores as they are generally very cheap for the weight they carry and easy to clear £100 net profit on them in 120 days and if you buy 500 kilo ones then its easy if feed correctly to double your money in 4 months.

So, 500kg at what? £650-£700?Yep they have been and that includes Fri steers but until the last few weeks it has been possible to buy Fri steers that will double in money.
So, 500kg at what? £650-£700?
120 days at 1.5kg/day is 180kg, so you now have a 680kg bullock killing out at 50%, so 340kg d/w.
340 x £3.20 for a -o gives £1084 before costs. .....

120 days is four months well it is up north anyway and they clear £100/ head so if they are doubling themselves in value as well, say you spend £180 in feed etc you must be buying them at £300 and selling at £600? That's the only way that equation fits by my maths.

You can call it what you want but if you feed them right/ buy at the right price then its entirely possible.
And I would be very unhappy if I averaged les than £1130/1150 for Fri steers on the current deadweight price ( easy to top £1200 head with the right steers now )
Where do you send your cattle to?No by a LONG mile

Those 500 kg HF steers were only making £1 kg back so yes it is possible
We all have different opinions but I much prefer to feed them from lower weights and kill them at 600 kilos, feed conversion is terrible at heavier weights.
