Someone up here had a tree down in yesterdays wind and blew a power line onto some dog kennels. Lost 14 working gun dogs, tragic.

Ten years ago had to put two big square bales of wrapped haylage on a lean to roof which looked a bit twitchy and was starting to lift in places.
Got it well bolted down with tie bars straight after that!

I was well an truly sick of firing up the diesel generator multiple times per day.

Supposed to Heptavac the ewes tomorrow, but decided today looks better, and move them into a sheltered field for a few days. Got wet but at least my hat stayed put....

We get 100 plus miles an hour wind up north and it's a yellow warning,
The South forecast is 70 to 90 and its a red warning ,

Even the weather has a great north, south divide now

Feels like we've been in a constant storm warning up here for the past 10weeks since arwen, not got all the trees cut up and damage fixed from that yet

Ye God's, our Council is getting twitchy, they've stopped all school transport tomorrow so even if the schools are opening the kids can't get there! Then again after the inaction for previous bad weather happenings with their slow response to help care homes getting staff in and out along with supporting NHS needs the Council's resilience team are going full on this time

Ye God's, our Council is getting twitchy, they've stopped all school transport tomorrow so even if the schools are opening the kids can't get there! Then again after the inaction for previous bad weather happenings with their slow response to help care homes getting staff in and out along with supporting NHS needs the Council's resilience team are going full on this time

Trouble is, if they get kids to school, then power goes off they will want to send kids home and buses will be struggling even more to get through by that time of day.

My mate got £70 a day for it being off compensation, he said he wished it had been off a month, so you would get a nice bit for starting the geny

I was talking to a farmer on a windy part of the Isle of Wight earlier who said they had put old tractor tyres on the roofs of the cattle sheds to stop them blowing off! Regular pre-storm procedure for them apparently.

Is this normal practice or bat$hit crazy!? I’ve never heard it done before.

I am sure I have seen it on roof lights
