Strange vision

I’ve got £80 reading glasses and £1 glasses. The £1 ones are much better to wear, they help a great deal to see the near stuff without making the further away stuff so blurred you get an instant migraine.
The £80 prescription glasses are great if you need a microscope for something.
My optician must see me coming and says ahh hello James £300 please as I walk in

Hello any doctors look in here???

I've recently been noticing a strange shimmering flashing shape in the left side of my vision.
The shape is a < shape yes a < shape.
It's in the left side of my vision quite large too wether I close 1 or both eyes it's still there But then can suddenly disappear, I had iritus when it was 15 ish I'm now 35.
It comes on suddenly and goes just as quick I sometimes take a paracetamol but this I can't confirm helps or not...

It's like a lightening very fast flashing shimmering effect
I can't really describe it I'm sorry

Thank you
I get that , goes after a while .

Hi.
A good outcome
I have been getting auras about once a month for about 20 years.
Lasts for 15/20 mins. its just a minor inconvienience at times that
you get used to.

5020 man
Those auras I get now and then ,but years ago blurry vision ,you knew after it cleared ,migraine headache would come on bad and you be sick ,and would'nt end untill you slept it off. Horrible
These days get auras now and then and your looking at something, can see it ,but distorted, blurry ,or watery cross blur ,distort type , clears but no headaches ?
Is high or low blood pressure effects with you?
Strange.

Heard a thing on radio 4 a while back about migraines and they followed some sufferers who made a recording about attacks when they happened. Really interesting and they linked them with creativity and seeing the environment around them in a different light. Basically from tripping on lsd to increased sense of smell, taste and an elevated impression of colours etc. Don’t know if it’s still available as a podcast or whatever but worth looking up.

Hello all
Been into the hospital and been given the all clear, I had numerous scans and checks there is "deposits" in the back of my eye in which there happy to monitor them a more detailed scan of scan has given a clearer image.
The deposits are the naturally occurring type....

The bright image I'm seeing is a optical migraine which dosnt manifest into a headache, They were concerned about the optical nerve being uneven the most

So all clear

And thank you

James
Good to hear you got all clear. I have had eye issues earlier in the the year. Had a black shadow in my vision one day and within about 48 hrs I was undergoing surgery for a detached retina. Now all clear with the only change to my sight being I now need to wear glasses for reading. Could have lost my sight in the one eye if l had left it too late. Had a great service from the NHS. If in doubt get it checked out.

Great news on the result as you say could of been a whole lot worse
And just goes to show you never know...
