Scrap the above, the OH has said go new ?
We came to the same conclusion. Haven’t regretted buying new.

Make sure you keep the box - it’s worth its weight in gold when you come to sell it!

I’d highly recommend a kick-stand too - saves a lot of damage to the paint, seat and grips. Our kids instinctively use them every time they get off - no more ‘gently’ laying it on concrete or precariously leaning it up against a wall by its handlebars or dragging it around the yard trying to pick it up!

I have spent a while looking at Isla bikes the last few days, set an ebay auto search just for research! trouble is i have now found two bargains that are collection only, one a fair way from home.

In the current climate of lockdown and an overdue baby not really wanting to go off collecting bikes but its tempting!

What's so interesting about them ?

They are a very good quality kids bike that command high second hand prices. I started looking as have two young nieces that are showing an interest in bikes and i am very much of the opinion that if kids are keen they should be rewarded with a bike that will make the experiance a pleasure rather than some heavy cheap thing that isnt fun to ride.

Thank you for that. I am the type of person to instantly bin packaging  I just think £200-300 is a lot of money and it could arrive and be awful! So I’d rather spend a bit more and have the guarantee of quality. We just have to wait for them to come in to stock now

I think it’s a combination of things, summers coming, no school, likely restrictions on holidays away, Isla sold out and people currently doing more exercise have all led high demand for bikes - people are capitalising on that.

I’ve seen some bikes on eBay go for more than they cost new! Crazy!

The Isla to look out for are the ones with the smaller seats and have stickers that are coloured similar to the frame. These are the more recent models.

Saying that, the new one we have just ordered has new sticker design - fingers crossed it will be delivered in time for the little ones birthday!

Good choice, he’ll love it I’m sure ?

They’re like a Fendt... it’s the cost of ownership that counts, not the initial investment! That’s what I keep telling myself ?
A very positive way to look at it!
I just thought at the end of the day if I can get a 12 year old one for £250 then I may as well buy new, know exactly what I’m getting and then his next ones aren’t going to cost me a great deal.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
