Personally I would stay way from carbon you have to be careful with the bushesI hear you. But from chatting away to bike shops I dont think there is a lot of poor carbon like there was when it was new on the scene.

2 questions - but does she love it? And what colour?!
Then an open question to the bike gods, I’m trying to do a lot more biking now that I don’t have a marathon to train for, I’m a bit poorly until my iron levels increase and I find it easier pushing through on the bike rather than run and plus I’m actually really loving Bertha (the bike) since I’m gaining more confidence....anyways is there anything in particular to build strength and speed? I know running i’d do intervals and hill sprints but not sure If the same goes for the bike? I feel like I’m improving each time and that’s just going out for fun plus I like beating my dad
Who do you call usual places
Depends what you are after, Hill repeats are very good for strength building, find a hill and ride up and down it. Boring though, I just try and vary my rides, long and steady, short blasts, fairly hilly or nice flat railway lines. Coast to coast next weekend, Whitehaven to Sunderland. The nice relaxed 3 day affair.I sifted through the dull bits

If you are looking at GCN I really enjoyed the recent video of the North Coast 500, the route around the Scottish coast, I’m not fit enough for that but the scenery looks brilliant.
Bg
My cube is the only one that may ever see gravel but it was a face book market place bargain that i have two sets of wheels for so i can off road it or sling the slkcks on for a winter sunday club run to save some miles on the commuter or sling the knobblys and trailer on and drag the nieces roynd rytland water. They really are a multi trick pony.
I bought from planet x when you could still visit their shop, thats now closed, ironically just before ribble opened the factory outlet,
The other customisable british brand to look at is Dolan

I hadn't really thought about Dolan - kind of assumed they were a bit too cheap and almost Carrera standard. Having read a bit they actually the L'etape's look a really good deal @ £950 for Shimano 105/ Rim Brakes and Carbon frame.
Aye and get on and ride it. are you in the TFF Strava cycling club?Got a Cannondale Supersix 105 in the end. Special offer. Right I can stop talking about bikes now!
