How do I break apart 2000 bags to separate the plastic (waste) and compost (useful)?
The roots and crowns are larger than the hole they were planted through, so will not easily shake loose even when the bag is cut.
Any ideas how the big boys do it, or how can i make a simple machine to help?

A sharp knife and some patience..that's how we do ours...mind you only have 300 or so a year.
I'm mostly annual cropping now so we find if you pull or cut the plants out as soon as picking has finished then they won't have rooted around the bag.
Any thing grown over for another year then the bag will be full of roots.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
