Went out this morning dreading what I'd find in sheep shed and was happy when all was well and eating there nuts, then went to hen house to discover someone's been in through hen house and found 2 dead hens and 2 from yesterday and left them at door with note saying I should do my job better. I could put money on who it was. When I ask for help they don't want to k ow yet when they feel like it they come telling me to do my job better. The air was blue when I seen it

Sorry commenting again on this. Just wondering what people think. Today iv has the following go wrong
Feeder wouldn't start in hen house after putting it to auto. Easy fix
Big Tractors battery flat again again and battery charger of are own is broke
Go get 2 bales straw and while unloading strings snap and one resulting in a floppy bale,
Wheel on wheel barrow flat when wheeling it in.
Another tine snaps on shear grab which now makes 4 snapped and no one will fix them. Loader tractors oil leak getting worse and mechanics won't have time to fix it.
And the 1 reason for all of those things happening is, according to dad, because iv to many sheep and they need sold or shot. And it's only a week since dads op. Another 6 weeks to go. Rant over

Not sure how to fix current one. Fixed other one but it's the seals on the cross shaft for lift arms hats gone again. Mechanic put new ones in and within a day they had gone again and he said he'd replace but doesn't want to k ow now. I need it each day to feed so can't just go park it at his shed and leave it at min

We all have days like that will.

If you feel like you're having one again, do as little as possible then less can go wrong. (y)

Needs electrics looked at to so he'd have to do that as don't think I'd be able to
If you don't think you can? You won't know until you've had a look Will. Obviously not knowing the problem but it could be a loose connection, fuse. Something simple. Never be afraid to have a go.

As for the dead hens.... Where there's livestock. There's dead stock.

Morning Will. Hope you managed to get some sleep last night? I get times like you described during lambing. All you can do is tell yourself that it will pass, I find, and that mid-lambing is the worst part. Really important that you look after yourself first, then the sheep. Best wishes.

Got to sleep about 2 this morning. Didn't venture out to sheds after I put them to bed and none lambed till I was out this morning so worked out well. Another triplet born last night and scanned for twins. Might have to set up milk feeder today and hope they all take to it in day or two. Putting them in furthest shed from house to

Hi sorry to bring up a old thread again. Had couple people asking how I've been recently so thought I'd say here to just in case anyone else wondered. Have had a hard enough summer for me and been building on me last few weeks and have spoke to a family member about it and there worried abit and said j need to speak out more. Iv tended to bottle all up again and now reached a breaking point as such and finding it tricky to get out of it again. Usually like this time of year but not this year :/
If anyone has any new techniques to cope please be in touch

Will, seeing how this has manifested now, at a time of cold dark and miserable weather, have you ever considered SAD as a contributing factor with your struggles?
