Stubble rake

Unless you are on very light ground they wont even touch it unless its for closing slots like Will7 said above. The Mzuri Rezult is definitley the best on the market and is a very cheap and quick way of establishing grass and covercrops etc. A set of discs is a more versatile purchase and would be my first choice

A straw rake would be a better description. Not really a cultivator.

Great for spreading straw residues. I get about 1/2" of tilth from mine with each pass. Good for smashing up brittle osr stalks and mechanically destroying slug eggs if done in hot dry weather.

I've found my rake useful for badly trained baler drivers. It spreads lumps out where the combine has stopped, trailers have dragged a bit out of the swath they are crossing or where they have left the field and run on the swath near the field entrance. My Claydon drill hates lumps of straw.

I use mine after my sumo GLS. Get a great seed bed to drill into. Or I use it after the drill. Helps in our Claydon system. As it's usually to wet to roll after drilling into unturned soil. So we leave it a day. Rake it then roll. Get great seedbeds on heavy land.

My dad bought one about 20 years ago, to help chit before using a SD drill.
Here, for eg, I have been using a carrier to chit weed/vols but last year after 2 passes I end up with 4” of powder which became a problem when the non stop rain came. So my dads old rake has come over here now. Hoping to get seed/soil contact to flush with getting “into” the soil
