Hi!
A bit of a long shot I know..
My name is Nathan, I grew up in Stowmarket and I am in the British Army based at Wattisham Airfield. I am a lover of history and Suffolk really excites me.
My motives for posting on this forum are rooted in that same profound love and respect for history. I have just recently taken up the hobby of metal detecting and I am looking to retrieve historical relics and objects that gives us a connection to people and the traditions of days gone by.
All this being said, I would be honoured to metal detect the land/area surrounding your farms and share my finds with you. I understand the responsibility that comes with the permission to detect and assure you that I have the relevant liability insurance as I am a member of the National Council for Metal Detecting and follow the metal detecting code of ethics - which includes filling in all my plugs and leaving no evidence of my presence and disposing of any rubbish/waste that I find along my way. I would even be willing to lend a helping hand on the farm if needed.
I would sincerely appreciate your consideration in this matter. And if, by chance you decline, I would much appreciate a reply which states some history about your farm so that I may have a greater appreciation for it.
Kind Regards,
Nathan Desmond-Hurst
