Looking for 2nd feet spreader that will take 2 half ton bags for dairy farm spreading about 30 ton a year, came across a clean dpx24 what are these like or am I better off to buy a rauch or Amazone

I had a DPX, now have an Amazone. Found that one side would run faster than the other despite being on the same setting.

Hello Rusty, mine does the same thing so I put the right side one up one notch. Glad it's not just me, I think you can adjust it though.

I have a DPX, my second, and it will be ideal for what you want. I have no extensions on mine, and it comfortably takes a 1000kg bag of urea or 2 x 600kg of everything else.
It is basic, easily adjustable for pattern, importantly, it runs horizontally making it much easier to maintain by eye as the hopper unloads. You can adjust the datum point on the adjusters quite easily to equate left and right settings. If the agitation tines don't both align identically with the outlets, this can make a difference, this is again adjustable.
It is also very easy to clean every night. The agitation system requires a little bit of looking after, but is only an eccentric driving a pitman arm and a metalastic bush, that fails occasionally. It is easily stripped and repaired. Hear the spreader running before buying, it should be quiet when empty, if there is rhythmic loud tapping of the agitation tines striking the hopper bottoms, the bush needs changing.
For a second spreader, for the second hand price of these, I don't know any simpler or better for your requirements.
I'd buy another tomorrow.
