I don't suppose anyone knows of a tanco loader boom frame in reasonable condition sitting idle? weve a 978 on a 4wd tractor but ive noticed its cracking in a few places and its been welded before, rather than live on to regret it i'm looking for a new frame as we already have the brackets on the tractor. Have spoken to K. Kingston but he's asking a silly amount for the boom on its own considering the condition it was in.

Im pretty sure the difference between the 968 and 978 is the addition of double acting rams. The rams on ours weve rebuilt ourselves and turned off the ends and replaced this. But weve spent a fair bit on the tractor and the thought of the loader breaking off and writing the tractor off never mind me isnt good.

weve tanco loader brackets on everything, but im sure if someone can put me right that those generic headstocks you can buy for quickie are the same fitment?

Completely different booms on 968 and 978 .
The 968 boom is something like 4" x 2" box section , so parallel shape .
978 is folded plate , so tapered shape .

The steel used by Tanco 35-40 years ago was a long ways back from say what Quicke were using .

I have a Tanco 978 QA for years . Rarely used for last spring , when current tractor with loader was in garage for a few days .

I have tanco brackets on more than half the implements . Current loader has Euro head so I have an adaptor plate with euro on loader side/Tanco on implement side .
