Tanker problem

Are you sure the door is opening, I had a problem with my tanker. The ram was opening but the flap was not lifting as it was disconnected from the ram.
If there is a leak in the tanker you will hear the air being sucked in.

Pipe that comes off top of pump to top of tanker could be sucking in on the inside when under pressure! You can’t see it from the outside, inner core of pipe becomes detached! New piece of pipe and try it!

Probably the closest answer to the original posters problem, happened to me, took some time and puzzling to find out.

If you have checked for leaks The catchment tank is full and the ball is not letting it get vacuum or the ball in the tanker is stuck or if old they get squidgy and soft and get stuck. I wouldnt use the diesel method myself as had a driver doing this a few years ago as he new best and when it gets hot it buggers the barrel up. We use hydraulic oil in winter and engine oil in summer and have done for 25 years and never replaced a pump on 20 tankers.

we had that happen, took a while to work out what the problem was but pumped fine again once new pipe was put on.

too thick in cold weather , they are better run on a thinner oil and they don't need diesel , either that or thin the oil down with diesel all the time .
The diesel is just to clean and free them up . Then let it suck up a cup of universal oil to get them lubed up , then the vacuum oil in the pump will keep them going .

I've had this several times. This is usually the problem if all the obvious ones has been checked.

The diesel is only used to clean out the pump the oil still lubricates it as normal , most manufactures do recommend this

Hi guys. Just wondering was this problem ever solved. I’m having problems with my tanker sucking. When I open the back shoot the hose fills but not enough suction. So far I have took the pump apart twice, cleaned everything, replaced vanes, checked hoses and still no good . Any ideas, getting really pee'd off now and need help ???

Replace the pipe from the pump to the top of the tank. I’ve had this problem several times over the years and the laminates can seperate inside the pipe. Looks perfectly normal from the outside, but sucked flat on the inside.
Also, check the changeover handle. Sometimes you can change from pressure to vacuum, and the handle will move ok, but the changeover flap inside the pump doesn’t fully move across.

I've a 2004 Redrock 2000g the problem is when filling the balls in the top trap won't come up and are letting slurry past, the top ball in it is plastic so tried a rubber one (which was 80g heavier) but still no luck. Have tried filling with 1400 revs and 1050 revs but no difference. Tanker fills and spreads ok. The only thing I've noticed is the pipe coming of the top trap to secondary trap is cracked and doesy looking on outside, could this be the problem?

1 of my tankers did that. Turned out the rubber ball had gone out of shape and was jamming before it got to the top. Should be plastic on the bottom to float on the slurry and rubber on top to go up and plug the hole

Bought 2 new balls, plastic float ball and rubber one, the rubber one is 80g heavier that the old plastic one I took out, you would still think the vacuum would still lift it?

The liquid under the plastic one lifts the balls, not the vacuum. The other thing to look for is make sure ur not sucking air anywhere and bubbling the slurry. The foam doesn't lift the balls and will go through the pump.

The farm I was drawing out of there was a hole in pipe and you could see it foaming through the trap glass at top, another man drawing out of the same pipe with an abbey tanker and his worked ok.

We had the same problem when we had a job spread beer it got that frothy it wouldnt lift the ball and the liquid went through the pump and kept snapping the vanes so we ended up putting a lighter ball in the top one and put a secondary one off it which you can see the bowl and ball and havnt had a problem since

Anyone using the MEC 11000 pump, can you head much difference in the note when full? I can hear a bit of change in note but not as noticeable as the major 1300 tanker we have.
