Actually it says -

the Chancellor could overhaul air passenger duty and scrap tax relief on red diesel as part of a wider push on green taxes.

If nothing else it might get more people questioning exactly what all these green taxes are based on.

True, but it also says “if” with regards to entrepreneurs relief and that is definitely going by all accounts.

Quite often the Treasury drip feed these ideas into the press beforehand so the Chancellor can pointedly state in his Budget speech he has no intention of doing any such thing, unlike the party opposite etc etc............

In the report in The Times at weekend it said would be a relief for Agriculture. So would apply to all the industrial users of Red, such as refrigeration engines, generators etc.

Do you have a link - it was the Sunday Times that said it could be scrapped, but that was a bit light on the details.

Why do they want to take anything away that helps our industries compete globally ?

Red is only used for industrial uses and public transport though.

His constituency is one of the wealthiest in the entire country,and guaranteed a 20,000+ majority even if they put a donkey up.They couldnt care less about red diesel rebate.

think out of all red diesel only 9% is used in agriculture
