Hi we got a TB calve isolation unit that is defra approved will house 180 calves if anyone is interested let me know. Thanks
We charge per a calve a adayWhat rent could you charge for a calf rearing shed? Like how many pounds per square foot?
Why not full it yourself?
Buy em in cheap
Should be fine if you can put an electric fence round the handling system so the boundary extends past it to become one whole unitThought I would ask the question here to see if anyone knows before I ring the APHA tomorrow...
I have 2 sheds that would be perfect for isolation units. One would be fully enclosed. The other has outside handling facilities but the animals housing would be fully enclosed.
Would that be allowed or not?
@Rossymons we have an isolation unit on farm that allows us to bypass the 7 day standstill. Fully enclosed barn with a further margin around outside from any other cattle. Separate entrance from road and own handler. Basically nothing enters the area directly from the main farm. Separate holding number
However it's my understanding that that isn't suitable enough for an actual tb isolation unit
When i asked last week they said i needed a good reason to have two holding numbers within a ten mile radius. I couldn’t think of a good enough off the hoof so failedHow hard was it organising the yard with a separate holding number? A different opportunity has come up
When we got our isolation unit it comes with it's own number which they won't let you keep after the unit goes clear. How hard was it organising the yard with a separate holding number? A different opportunity has come up
