And history tells us that there will be flying pigs

History tells us Britain will continue to be Great. Have some self respect. We got where we are despite the rest of Europe trying to drag us down and we will continue to demonstrate why. We are hated, that is obvious and there is not a shred of gratitude for what we have given the continent. It is jealousy and spite and I couldn't give one single f**k.

EU import more into the UK than the UK exports to the EU ( over 1 million German jobs rely on exports to the UK alone for example ) so they need us much more than we need them!

Thou of course the EU are doing the right thing by saying we want 50 billion etc as they can drop that from 50 to 25 for example in talks but you cannot go from 25 to 50 billion, always start out demanding a lot more than you expect to achieve.

There's your English arrogance leading you astray again. We are one tiny little country. They are 27 mostly bigger countries and the biggest of them all wouldn't really miss us if we sank tomorrow. On the other hand if we can't trade on equal terms with them, we will indeed sink to the bottom, relying on selling high cost high value goods to a larger circle of countries that are far poorer than the 27 we currently deal with and who don't want our exports anyway, only to export their own goods tariff-free to us. Mainly cheap food products.

Who the hell do you think will buy your lamb if it had to be re-marketed to new customers. Customers that might well not exist.
Where will British Beef be sold at viable prices in the light of massive unrestricted massive ship-loads of South American beef [free-tade remember]?

Bigger picture, less immigration of people that only want to live here for benefits and not work ( anyone who wants to come here too work hard and support themselves will/ should always be welcome Brexit or no Brexit imo ), taking back control of our own rules/ laws, not being told by Germany what we can/ cannot do and because millions of people died in two world wars to protect our freedom and that was being eroded by unelected people in Brussels year on year is some of the reasons I voted out!

Upside is that in the long term Brexit will be good for ALL the UK but yep there will be pain to start with and thus why we must apply as many pain killers as possible short term after Brexit.

What tosh. Where are all these EU immigrants that only live here for the benefits? Many come here - most work hard and try to become part of the community - some are bad eggs but so are the locals.. My area of the UK was most leave orientated of all - and for that we now have the Nuttall standing for parliament. .

Hundreds of thousands that come here just for the benefits or to be able to send benefits back to their own country for their kids etc that have never set foot in the UK yet qualify for things like child support etc..

You really need to get out beyond the farm gate and see what is really happening on the streets of the UK.

Black people that work hard to support themselves are more than welcome in the UK either pre or post Brexit.

However the majority of the UK do NOT want to be ruled by Germany like we currently are being done so!

It was Merkel who opened German borders and said all refugees are welcome, now even German people have had enough of this totally unsustainable policy which just shows how out of tough the people like Merkel are with real people and thus why sooner or later the EU will implode.

They didn't fight and die to be controlled/ ruled by Germany like we now are!!

Reality is that Germany actually run the EU and the other 26 country's are just cogs in Germanys big wheel.

Crikey! What have the Germans done to reduce your freedom and prosperity in the last 50 years? Aren't they and the EU the ones who insist on worker's rights, high production standards, lower pollution levels?

The French and German farmers in particular are very influential in their countries politics and have actually protected EU farmers for a very long time. That while the UK was in the EU of course.

The UK? Well the UK Governments have a long and inglorious history of selling UK Ag down the river at the slightest hint of expediency. They've let UK Agriculture go into severe economic depression at least a couple of times in the last 150 years. You see there's very few farmers and those that support the industry are also comparatively few in the grand scheme of things. While we all may be important in rural areas, most people don't live in rural areas and we don't figure in the grand plan. It would probably be cheaper to pay us the dole and social security than to subsidise the industry. Turn the English and Welsh countryside into a towny's playground full of weeds, trees and fluffy critters. That, along with cheaper food with no industry and mess in their 'backyard' has a compelling appeal to an awful lot of people.

It's official, patriotism = racism.[emoji849]

Patriotism is a love for your home and country. Nationalism is a dislike or hatred of you neighbours. Neither is 'racism'
All can be dangerously divisive. You need look no further than recent Central European history for proof. Or the island of Ireland if you must have an example on our doorstep.
Don't think that such violence and disruption is so very far away in Scotland, whipped up by Nationalism. More and more English are tending to think 'f**k 'em' and cast them out on their own and remove all English/UK investment from there, including the military, shipbuilding [for the military] and everything else. Send back the RBS to them with the bill for rescuing it for immediate payment.

That's the kind of divisive sh!t you get when nationalism is fostered and becomes dominant. Its always someone else's fault though and they are always hard done by.

That arrogant attitude right there just might be why the English are so despised by so many worldwide. [Good luck spouting that sh!t publicly outside of Little England]
They are not alone in this of course, thinking 'America', but are in the same premier league.

Thank you, you didn't disappoint with your response. I referred to Britain, never once England, but you couldn't help yourself. Now who is the divisive nationalist showing his true colours? Pathetic attitude that built a great nation, never. Let's roll over and let everyone stiff us shall we, you are naive if you think that any one of the other EU nations have anything other than their national interest in mind.

With French and German farmers standing up to their respective Governments on our behalf the NFU has been riding on their coat-tails for the past 40 years and will now have to make representations directly to MAFF - Oh sorry, I forgot, British Ag is now subservient to "the environment ".[emoji15]

Personally I think the only way UK AG will survive post Brexit and no subs on non level playing field is if we take control from farm gate to the shoppers car with regional co-ops across the UK, do away with the AHDB and replace it with a organisation that actually promotes UK produce and its merits to UK shoppers.

An interesting concept; somewhat similar to the old CO-OP and ASDA and whatever happened to farmer's markets?

As an outsider looking in, I think that we have all been hoodwinked over BREXIT! We pawns have been very astutely manipulated into making a decision that our masters wanted to make but were afraid to.

Worried about Argentinian beef; what about plastic lamb? Recent reports tell us that there has been an artificial womb developed for keeping premature babies alive; rather than using O2 incubators. The plastic bag type womb, fed by nutrient rich fluids, has been used to support a number of lambs to full term and then delivered in tact. I wonder how long it will be before the scientists can organise conception, growth to term, and healthy delivery from a plastic bag?
Probably, the clever geneticists could even ensure that only the best cuts of lamb are grown.

A brave new world; or is it still April 1st?
