TexX ewes - which Tup to use?

Have you noticed two different types in the Beltex lambs?

Aye, that poorer tup throws finer (easier lambing) lambs which can be pretty bare skinned... He left the lamb which was a pet for a few days and got called Barry the (Bald barsteward) Beltex 🤣

Can't really tell much difference between lambs at moment (there a few I know definitely which tups they're from, so I'm keeping tabs), but will wait and see again when they're a bit older

Done! 12 tups and 1 cull ewe (lame, waiting on her walking so she can go). Wouldn't even be shearing an hour - did 8 in about 25mins then had a break. Did the last 5 at a leisurely 15-20 mins. They all tipped up and sat fine, except 1 Texel fought a lot when tipping him over, but sat fine once on his arse. One or 2 dirty bums, but the grass has gone very lush here in the last couple weeks

The Beltex I dislike was the worst shearing of them all

Quite a difference between them and it's pretty clear I'm right in not liking him

looks like one of those bad doer Beltex that will always be like that . Hunched back doesn’t help the way he looks, the other tups a cracker ! From my experience and trying to buy Beltex stock tups in the past the poor one won’t get any better if he’s like that now.

Fetched the sucking hoggs in this morning... lambs needed dosed and sprayed but decided to try shearing and see what they were like, first.

Very good going. 2 bellys were yellow and like wax, but everything else shore fine. There's a handful ewes which weren't great at end of lambing kept back are in this group. They're going cull once the lambs are off them... A few looked like they'd be hellish shearing but only 1 was bad - and even she was fine once I got into her. Given me more faith the rest of the ewes will be pretty much ready to crack on!
There was 1 Hogg had the starting of a strike - in clean wool, as she had been struck around the tail a fortnight ago and I had already trimmed her 🤦🏻‍♂️

Lambs wormed, multi vit dosed and all sprayed with Clik (had a bottle for doing the Suffolks very early last year, which went unused with it being so cold for so long).

I'm doing 90 for a neighbour on Friday, then moving up to do my dry hoggs and his other 160 which run beside, next week... It feels like it's came very quickly - but we are later than last (2!) year

I was in at Murray's at lunchtime and girl said they'd had loads of farmers in this morning for pour-on because of struck sheep - ewes and lambs.

The group of ewes with the Beltex lambs (which run down on the lowest ground) - I did all the ewes tails last week, but one of them was struck on Monday morning right on the edge of where I'd trimmed to 🤦🏻‍♂️

I would shear them, but I don't think they'll do yet - some do not look good at all. Starting to feel a bit caught between shearing them and spraying them... lambs aren't done yet either, but they're very clean so hopefully OK
