The angry country

My, my, we seem to have as many childish comments on here as the as the retards in the tabloid press I expect better. If some petty bureaucrat is about to take your livelihood away I would do exactly the same. Its interesting that some of the Jersey fishermen are actually supporting them, possibly because they understand that they it will then be impossible for them to land their catches in France where 91% of it goes.

Funny how Guernsey is not having any particular problems.
Just been reading about all this, it seems that Jersey have no objections about the French fishing there "as they have for centuries" but under the Brexit deal they had to provide historic proof that they had fished there, 41 boats did but 17 didn't.
As they said, the rules weren't made by Jersey and France, they were agreed by the UK and the EU.
None of us like all the rules we have to abide by but we can't just choose which ones to ignore.

Unless you're French of course, they are famous for it.

The biggest problem is they've asked for digitised data. They won't accept the written fishing logs. As the majority are day boats they do not have the computers that automatically save the data. Gurnsey accepted the written logs, Jersey decided to go down the same route as the UK, wanting 5 years data.
It's as if Jersey decided to use this to get rid of a few French boats, forgetting their own boats land in Normandie.

Not sure really, it read as if they were happy to have the French fishing there but who knows.

Getting to the facts isn't easy these days. Also the data wanted was from as far back as 2012. A lot of boats have uprated their systems in the last few years so current data is easier to supply.
Unfortunately demanding difficult to obtain information is a standard procedure for many small minded petty officials. Or being exceedingly pedantic over how a form is filled in. We were hearing stories back in January of Netherlands customs officials being particularly pedantic to UK lorry drivers as one example. I've seen it 1st hand with US immigration who send people to the back of a long line due to not filling in one box on an entry card, instead of allowing them 5 seconds to do it at the desk.
In this particular case GPS data was being demanded to prove that boast had traditionally fished Jersey waters despite it not being compulsory for vessels under 15 meters and not compulsory for any fishing vessel until 2016

It's just the normal anti government mob consisting of yellow vests, anti vaxxers, libertarians, hard left and hard right and folk who don't like Macron. They are saying it was only 215,000 across the whole of France, which when you compare it to the 600,000 who were queuing to get vaccinated on the same day puts it in perspective. The good thing is, for such a rally of nut jobs, social anarchists and ordinary people they have all been very peaceful and good natured, from what I can tell. But the polls show between 60-70% of the population are happy support Macron's vaccine rules atm.

The photo is the march of national unity in January 2015 😁

Petra read on Czech news yesterday, the Paris protest was 250,000🤷‍♂️. Bloody hot day to be stood in a huge group in a city. Tbh, they are now not protesting against the vaccine but against the loss of free will as to whether you have it or not. I fully agree, but not sooooo much to go protesting in Paris. 😂
I’ve found out I obviously have no principles as I just did as I was told and toddled along for my dose of experimental drugs😕
