The Beast from the East!

Way off topic

But the strength of the wind, has blown the polysterine insulation strips out of the eaves of our potato store. The crop was carefully covered with small bale straw & gas heated, but still had some losses. First time in that store since it was built in 1987. Lack of preparation should have checked the strips were safe, double baled potatoes, baled up the doors (although they are insulated) & had an extra gas burner running. I'll be very careful in future.

Was distracted by caring for the sheep, would not have been caught out in December.

Thanks
TBH I feel like this area got off pretty lightly compared to others last week. No one is lambing yet and not heard of any major stock losses. Roads were all cleared each day by lunchtime too.
It’s the prolonged lying snow for most of the winter that’s taking its toll on ewes

Not sure I should have liked that. But it could have been so much worse for you, if you were lambing.

Hard to beleive you still have snow, rest of coutry has moved on & burst pipes in London is now "the big weather story"

Easier on my arms too. Been a good few years since I was labouring to 3 brickies. Soon got told if mix wasn't up to scratch. Would save a he'll of alot of donkey work and I do enough of that as it is. Anybody any idea of cost of 15 foot by 5 foot tall panels?
