Last cows I sent were 2 August, so little bit out of date. An O=3+ cow 411kgs was paid at 364p at ABP/Linden Foods Dungannon.
Most decent suckler bred?I heard they hadnt really wanted cows just lately. £4 sounds ok but what spec of cow gets £4? Not many i reckon.
If it makes you feel better the week before yours, I got 395p/kg for a -O3 heifer so I reckon you did well. The problem is £1k is covering less and less bills.
I wouldnt bank on itMost decent suckler bred?
They will if they are fedI wouldnt bank on it
I had a British friesian grade at R4L a few weeks ago. Even I had to look at the grade sheet twice. She had been fed though.I wouldnt bank on it
Well fed dairy bred cows sell well because they havent the bone of a suckler.I had a British friesian grade at R4L a few weeks ago. Even I had to look at the grade sheet twice. She had been fed though.
Just search JJ morris auctioneers facebookDo you have a link? Can't find it on marteye.
People wanting to buy because they think their cheap is what will Keep them upNo, where are all the 450+kg cattle for the ever increasing ever expanding feeding units? Corns dropped/dropping so more will want to walk it off the farm.
I would say a week maximumAnyone tell me the average days a beast for supermarket shelves
is hung for and is there a standard temperature, because I reckon someone down the line is ruining a lot of meat
A lot is matured in the packs, some joints hung. Will all depend on buyer specifications. Have had a tour round Stoddarts cutting plant at Broxburn and Highland Meats at Saltcoats. Very interesting days and would recommend to anyone who is breeding or finishing stock.Anyone tell me the average days a beast for supermarket shelves
