The Fencing Picture Thread

one or you guys. so I have a very early made protech style post knocker on a 5 ton digger, and when fencing on my own its a royal pain in the ass trying to line up posts straight. obviously from the cab its a doddle but to look from 90degrees from the cab involves climbing out a lot to check and look. Im sure i've read somewhere about hanging a chain down as a guide but where to put it ?
cheers

What do people use for terms and conditions on fencing jobs, and who writes it all up?

I probably should have some already, but up until a few things recently it's not ever really been an issue. I've had two jobs which I tried to book in pre winter which were delayed due to customer fields being too wet and customers wanting to put back until things dry out. Got back in touch and one decided she didn't need it anymore, the other had someone else in as she decided she couldn't wait.

Not particularly bothered as have a lot on but was thinking if I'd been out and ordered specific materials for their jobs, delayed due to weather and then left out of pocket when they change their minds after accepting quotes with materials sat around which aren't something I can just use up on the next job/restocking charge...

Then that got me thinking about a few years ago when a customers husband phoned up the day before I was due to do a spraying job asking if it was my best price and could I do it cheaper... If I remember right I lost half a day as I couldn't book anyone else in. And the time a customer wanted a fence through her wood, all hand dug, hit a mains electric cable (never thought to scan through a wood...), told her and she said something like "oh yeah I saw that on the deeds when we bought the property"...

Having a quick Google, some seems to cover all things like this but tend to be big companies. Does seem that it would help lessen my risk in some situations and maybe make people think a bit if they accept a quote with conditions attached.

Just so this post is half on topic, here's a few pictures of some paddocks I finished off for a customer before lambing started.

I've always wondered if that opens the door for things like 'I can get the materials cheaper than that' or 'how much for labour!?'. I've had a customer ask if I can do her rolling cheaper if I used their roller just to save a quid before so I wouldn't put it past a few of them...

What happens if someone did cancel - are the materials technically theirs and you have to drop them round?

Been asked to give a price to erect 750 metres of this style fencing,6ft high tornado stallion wire. Not done any before, any ideas for labour per metre guide price? Small awkward runs, accessible with machines. I’m thinking it’s a lot more awkward than normal fencing, £4-5 metre?

Definitely between 4-5. Short runs and if you haven't got you will need to buy deer clamps
