Yup.

ETA:
To elaborate, he needed a better editor. Far too many long words all strung together in unbearably long sentences. So much tautology I nearly ate my own face at some points. Good book, but only for the content, not the prose.
Agreed. It's a hard read. Done real golden insights are hidden amongst it though.

But then he's a bit like that to talk to as well.

I’m glad that some others that are cleverer than what I am find that.
I read through to the bitter end to find out what he’d done on his own place. I must have missed that bit somewhere.
Other books are more inspiring (eg Gabe Brown’s Dirt to Soil).

His stuff about Allan Savorys Djangambombe ranch was good, the family in the northern territory and Graham Finlayson stuff was pretty good. I still think he went full turbo against glyphosate at Groundswell and lost a bit of respect for him there personally

I thought it would be a job of work to get through it, but it's surprisingly readable. Nicely structured, simple language, anecdotes I can identify with. Mr Massy could learn a thing or two.

Sometimes it feels more like a mirror than a book though. This double-page spread, for example, is basically where I have been for the past few months (I'm not the one stifling creativity BTW. I leave that to the chief of the tribe. :ROFLMAO:)

It’s sitting beside my bed unopened, I refuse to start another book before finishing call of the reed warbler, but I’m struggling to trudge through what remains of that tome.

(I've moved all my unread and part-read books from the bedside to the bookcase. Out of sight, out of mind. Feels like less of a job that I'm not getting done, and more like something I choose to do when I want to.)

It would be interesting to see how you think pigs should be done "holistically".
We both have constraints- your "tribal elder" and mine is a landlord who isn't quite there yet.

Grass fed nation by Graham Harvey is a good, cheap, introduction to the idea behind holistic grazing and it's potential for the planet. Very readable and suitable to lend out to non-farmer's who are interested in their food provenance and impact.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
