The "I`ve got it" thread...

That's interesting. I thought they've always spoken about it being 80% would have had it.

Would expect it to be even higher in nhs staff
We know quite a few who have had it, either confirmed by test or told by nhs they are almost certainly had it, yet hardly any have transferred it to family members, especially when said family members are healthy but older

But 100% of the remaining 7500 staff may have had it. Can only assume that it's running at around 20% off those result. Wont know for sure till all results are in.
I hope you never get asked to do any government computer modelling. It will be more or likely 10% right through. This figure is very disappointing and very low.If replicated across the country,we are miles off herd immunity.

Or are they encouraging in that if only 10% of NHS staff have had it then it would follow that general population are likely to be similar numbers? If you consider that these are the people most exposed to the virus this are most likely to catch it, assuming those tested have all been on the covid wards and not staff working in other areas of the NHS?

Could be,if we assume the virus will become less virulent on its own and gradually fizzle out.

Suggests 25% have had it, but I guess we still don't really know. Best get a few million more tests done asap.

Before anyone falls out, I`ll clarify who was tested in the first batch at work.
The tests were offered on a first come first served basis across Clinical Management Groups so were mostly patient facing staff and any of the office wallahs (like me) who read the email Friday evening and decided to get off their backside on Sunday morning and turn up.
In the queue I was in it was mostly Physio`s, Nursing staff, Doctors and Lab rats. (y)
I would suggest it was probably 90% "front line" staff and 10% back room functions so the positive figure of 10% maybe slightly higher than the reality in the wider population.

Of course if you knock it back to say 8% positive in the population then that means 92% haven`t had it.....which makes the social distancing and reduction of transmission even more important.

Numbers as of midnight June 2nd.

Patients currently being treated for COVID-19: 109
Total patients treated for COVID-19 who have been discharged: 797
Total confirmed and nationally announced deaths positive for COVID-19: 357

Still a persistent number of presentations and the "tail" is tapering very, very slowly

As at midnight on 4 June 2020

Patients currently being treated for COVID-19: 97
Total patients treated for COVID-19 who have been discharged: 822
Total confirmed and nationally announced deaths positive for COVID-19: 363

I think the next decisions the government make will be real "make or break" for solving the problem. The timing concerns me, if shops reopen in 10 days then almost the same time the government will be announcing the next "release phase".

Absolutely back to normal here this week. It’s like lockdown never happened. Seems a bit soon to me, time will tell

Nice to see the current inpatients has dropped below 100! Long may that continue.

Good to see nationwide that inpatients are dropping by approx 1000 per week too. They should soon be below 7000. Just hope the trend continues.

Still awkward numbers and who knows what will happen once all the beach goers, protesters etc go home and see their elderly relatives? Cautiously optimistic seems to be the thinking at the moment.
