The Only Show in the UK?

This Sunday Hampshire Country Sports Day is going ahead near Petersfield - essentially a small show geared towards field sports with around 90 stands plus competitions, a main ring and ‘have a go areas’.

Is it the only show to be going ahead in the UK this Summer? Everyone and their dog is going from round here.

I was quite surprised when the local ploughing match which takes place at the end of September was cancelled a couple of months or more back.
Unfortunately this year, the curse of anything that does get to go ahead is that it’s almost bound to attract larger numbers so something which it might be possible to run with social distancing rules in a normal year might not be possible this year.

At first I thought it was crazy to cancel the ploughing match but on reflection I think it was the right thing to do because if it had gone ahead I suspect it would have been a roaring success

We are meant to be having the lawn mower racers here next week for their annual charity weekend, but not sure what to say to them. They seem pretty clued up on distancing, no visitors, etc, and even taking temperatures, but I fear we are going into a second bought of lockdown.

It's a social event, so no more than six people would be the law. I'd save them from making the decision if it was me and cancel for them.

The British 24h kart race managed to run in August, with some fairly drastic changes to minimise the risk of Covid transmission.

I’d say lawnmower racing is an organised sport. Loophole ahoy 👍

The administration and rules to be followed exist for genuine sporting organisations and competitions, but I'd say any amateur organisation would struggle to comply without a huge amount of headache.
