The ultimate classic tractor.

Add a turbo and call it a 3650 and you do have the ultimate classic ttractor
Not exactly a 36 just fitting a turbo, but i see what you are saying. Not really possible to find a 36 now that has'nt been to the moon and back, and for what such a rarity would cost I would be looking at a 6000 series, getting hard to find also.

i used to drive a 3050, was nice enough but that single door didnt really do it for me, was better than the 6400 what replaced it though, i had to wait until i got my hands on the 6600 before i was truly happy
Would you still use the left hand door only? i always do whatever the machine. I would of said a replacement for a 30/33/36 would of been the 6600.

depends what implement im using as to which door i use, when your mowing right next to a river it makes sense to get out the right hand door and walk round, as the left hand door it literally straight out and down the riverbank.

Salesman at the time was adament the 6400 was as good as the 3050, having more gears and a turbo, etc etc. wasnt though, it rode rough on the road unless it was ballasted to hell, and once the engine died out past a certain point it was time to drop a gear, where the 3050 would have clung on till the last. I was gratefull to get the 6600, felt so much more "planted" when you was driving it, and was silky smooth and quiet compared to the vibrating, revving like anything 4 potter

I just couldnt be doing with the visibility of the SG2, too many things in your eye line when you was trying to drill to the centre of the bonnet, and no space inside for anything except yourself

I rekon my left door habit thing started because of the sg2 cab, also quite a few hours in a 595, and 2680.
i suppose a factory 3050 would be close to a 6400. not many 3050 didnt get tweaked though, and you can hang a fair bit on the back of a high lift.
I see what you are saying regading the vis, but if you take the door pillar out of the equasion there is still the chimney and air pipe.
cracking old buses though.

Ours was a 40k HL version i think, she couldnt half shift on the road, was suffering usual problems towards end of her life, dash went haywire and hyd pressure kept vanishing, she was close on 11,000 hrs though, and never ever needed a headgasket either, but thats an argument for another day ;)

I had the pleasure of driving a 9600 like the one in my avartar .The gear leavers stuck out of the dash and crashing through the gears was a job on its own .If you roughed it enough trying to get 1h or 1L it would sheer a roll pin on the linkage and it was spanner time .Lucky it had multi-power so puling out of junctions etc was easy as Mr tortoise and Mr hare save wrestling with the cogs .I can not remember the size of the vacy tank but the tiger 6 just about pulled it but the 9600 would not break into a sweat with it .
I had it on the 307 one sat and cut 75 acres of second cut and some was first cut for hay on two farms.Good going i thought for the early 90's.When she went off chopping i had a new same laser 110 for mowing and on the RP12 and what a traveling menagerie that was .A gutless wonder .Anyway a few yrs later i heard the 9600 got snapped in half when a car t boned it .I had a Fiat 110 90 ( i think ) for a week and actually liked it .
Sorry to ramble on but it was a interesting tine of my life :)
