The war in Ukraine...

Trading land for dead Russian soldiers is sensible military strategy. Russia just lost a strategic island. It's losing ammunition dumps daily. It's own military is destroying apartments in Russian cities.

Three day war. 🙄
Trading land?
Major urban and defensive hub
200k Inhabitants before the conflict in those cities alone.
Some of the best defensive lines built over 8 Years.

And Snake Island is more important?

Ukraine has its Infrastructure getting destroyed by missiles since day one of the war.

Would like to know what you all are smoking

So a small town and a no longer relevant set of defense fortifications for a strategic port that's now able to be opened for exports in due course.
Infrastructure? Apartment buildings with women and children in them is what you meant to say.
Thousands more dead Russian soldiers too. More wins like this will destroy the Russian state

Someone is smoking something but it's not me.

The small towns had a Population of 200000 People before the war.
That's only the towns recently captured. If they were that irrelevant, why did Ukraine pour in troops for weeks to defend it. The grouping there was 20000 Soldiers, Zolote Grouping were 8000 Soldiers. I assume most of them managed to retreat, but the Casualties sure were Significant.
Those were the best fortified areas, with the veteran Units of the regular Army holding it.
Whole Urban are had even more Inhabitants and highly defensible positions.
A few weeks ago "retaking" Sievierodonetsk was celebrated here and now it suddenly became irrelevant.
Odessa wasn't blockaded because of Snake Island, the port is closed because Ukraine mined it, and before they can export grain they'd had to remove the mines placed there.
Russia still has naval control of the Black Sea, so how does that change a bit.
It's a PR Victory not a military important victory. And Ukraine hasnt occupied the Island either because they know that they would get showered with missiles if they were too. That's how important that island is.

In another development, railway tracks and electricity lines in the northern city of Kharkiv were damaged in a series of attacks. No casualties were reported.
The southern city of Mykolaiv - on a key route to the port city of Odesa - was shaken by several explosions.
The Russian defence ministry said its air force had destroyed five Ukrainian command posts and several ammunition dumps, but that claim has not been independently verified.
The blasts came a day after the Russians were accused of killing more than 20 people in a missile strike on a block of flats near Odesa.
Yes the ruskies are scrubbers.

World a better place without them

Someone can't tell the difference between tactical and strategic.
Though the admission that Russia has illegally mined international waters is welcome.
All Putin's trolls are idiots.
Why and HOW did Russia mine the port of Odessa
can you explain this to me?
To hinder their own landing craft from approaching?
They just send in a mine layer to Odessa and the Ukrainians watched it from the harbor?

The murder of innocent civilians is bloody awful in any war but & it's a big but if you compare the number of civilians killed in this war with the dreadful number of civilians murdered by the US & UK in their most recent wars the Russians look far more careful in comparison. Lets be honest the US & UK governments are a load of fecking hypocrites!!

Russian victory imminent. Again. 3 day war.🙄
The difference is you can't quote me on that because I've never said that.
It's just a Strawman you constructed based on something someone else said it.

Some of you are becoming just as delusional as the Russians when they said the Kiev offensive was a feint.

Russian troll forgets mine laying submarines exist.
Desperate deflection continues.
Meanwhile Russian troops continue to murder children.

A mine laying Submarine entering the port of Odessa and the Area close to it to lay anchor mines.
Completely undetected. With a capacity of 24 AN1 Mines, making multiple runs to completely mine the port and the bay of Odessa?
Really?
Like I said, every time you don't repost something, it's utter bullcrap

There we have it. Proof we have our own live Russian troll. 🙄
I looked it up, the Mines that are in the Black Sea can't even be used with Russia Kilo Class Black Sea Fleet Submarines
How's that trolling.
You are just spouting nonsense

Ukraine and Russia have accused each other of releasing Soviet-era YaM and YarM naval mines adrift in the northern Black Sea, and three have been detected and neutralized so far.

So they went there by Boat?

The bloody fool even forgets the history of his own claimed country. The last time Germany was ravaging across Europe it tried, and sometimes succeeded in laying mines on the UK's coast, as we did over there. And of course we both mined our own defensive coasts to a great extent. And we kept maps of where we had mined.

The YarM mine used can't be deployed via Submarine.

"And of course we both mined our own defensive coasts to a great extent. And we kept maps of where we had mined."

Why isn't Ukraine doing it then, Russia using offensive mines it seems
