Grandad fought the Turks with the Anzacs and he had very great respect for them as fighters and as people. He always said it was a pity they ended up on different sides.
That's fine as far as it goes, but it simply doesn't maintain democratic standards to the level that NATO membership requires, not does it reach the security commitment apropos not dealing with hostile powers...Good members.
Turkey is a very powerful country especially with that location. But they don't act like the West does.
Yep, and once Turkey hasbeen bribedseen reason, there will be two more members!
surly its better to have kit with people who can use it properly ,as we now know ,alot of trained ukrainians with big boys weapons are arriving homeThat's true this time, but sometimes late is as much good as never. Let's hope that now it's started to flow, it won't stop.
And that's only going to continue; reports of Russia 'recruiting' a tithe of border guards now... if this carries on they'll either have to start sending their police or begin drafting the general population. Either of those would have a good chance of leading to significant domestic problems for Putin - increased crime and general unrest.
Yes, it is, as I have written above. But there is an awful lot of kit than can be used with minimal specialist training, that was desperately needed, and that could have been sent nigh on immediately... but wasn't.surly its better to have kit with people who can use it properly ,as we now know ,alot of trained ukrainians with big boys weapons are arriving home
Hope they managed to get the cracker. It certainly looked very close and very well targeted.Well, the largest oil refinery in Southern Russia has been set ablaze by a drone strike... estimates are that this was providing about 40% of the fuel for the Russian war in Ukraine, as well as a hell of a lot for the South of Russia as a whole.
Ukraine war: Moment drone strikes Russian oil refinery
A second strike was aimed at the refinery but caused no fire, according to the plant. The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations said the fire had been contained and there were no casualties.news.sky.com
On a renewable note -Russians steal all the solar panels ,the locustsHope they managed to get the cracker. It certainly looked very close and very well targeted.
Red diesel £3.00/litre in a months time then.Hope they managed to get the cracker. It certainly looked very close and very well targeted.
Time for the electric tractor and solar panels. Our red diesel £3.00/litre in a months time then.
Military Dictatorships and even facist spain was allowed to join NATO as if there is some kind of democratic standard needed to joinTurkey and the Middle East need to be approached to agree on oil and gas pipelines. If they cooperate then Europe could fudge Russia off forever. There is shed loads of natural gas in the Middle East that is stuck where it is.
What would help is Israel being less belligerent and more cooperative.
lolThrow a load of naval mines into the Black sea. Anything that can be done to stifle the Russians and their economy is all fair game in my view.
Red diesel £3.00/litre in a months time then.
£1.99.9p in local market town tonight. Just put 15 litre in............. £30 quid.Possibly / Probably. Yesterday I listened to a Kansas State University extensification serve webinar of the current situation. One speaker discussed USA fert and fuel price. Very illuminating. Particularly the reference to the knife edge lack of refining capacity in USA due to no investment in new plant for several years. His concern was a Hurricane hitting the wrong place along the Texas / Louisiana coast knocking out a major refinery.
Greece, Spain and Portugal all joined as democracies, which countries do you write of?Military Dictatorships and even facist spain was allowed to join NATO as if there is some kind of democratic standard needed to join

I have a feeling that the fact that the BBC have now pretty much stopped being Ukraines publicity machine means the war is not going so well for Ukraine, too many other more important news items to report on these days in their opinion it seems. This is pretty interesting. I am sure Russia have enough ammo for the standard weapons to last for 10 wars. So what is this? Shorter transports? Odd types of ammo, but then we would not see "great amounts"?
Railway workers in Belarus reporting that ammunition depots in the country are being emptied and sent into Russia. The amounts are so great that all railway workers are being forced to assist in loading.
There is a slight chance corrupt generals have sold all the ammo to 3rd world conflict zones.
