The war in Ukraine...

i must be a bit mistaken… i never thought of TB being particularly infectious, person to person🤔.
for instance, I didn’t think Doc Holiday left a trail of infected folk behind him?🤔
plus, my former MIL had TB, and never spread it to any of her family
There used to be a sanatorium near us for TB patients. Mum said they had a rota to decide who should walk into town to buy supplies from her shop. I never heard her mention a fear of contagion but I guess suitable care was taken with masks, etc, she just used to reminisce about them fondly. In 1939, they built a huge new san. on the site to deal with far more patients, but before it was quite finished, the advent of antibiotics and new treatments made it redundant almost overnight so it stood there in the trees unfinished and unused for 60 or 70 years. We used to creep about in there when we were kids but I believe the shell has now been turned into an old folks' home.

Unfortunately it's difficult to disagree with the Russian saying it's pouring petrol on a fire, as much as everyone would wish this to end it's naive to believe the Russians will now give up so it will only get dirtier, there is no one trying to bring about a stop to this madness & in fact more seem intent on making it far worse, can't say we weren't warned.
But which country has sent more battle tanks to the Ukraine, Russia or the UK?

They use the DB transmission in the French Leclerc tanks too but the output shaft goes through a transfer box so instead of 6 forward and 2 reverse gears you have 2 forwards and….I didn’t say it :X3:
The Leclerc is fitted with the German Renk ESM500 transmission, although none have been built since 2007.

Russians just need to go home & its all over, just like 1918. If that is in body bags, their choice.

A lot is made of Russia in WW2. That victory was won with US help & troops from Ukraine & Kazahstan.

This victory will again be won by US help & Ukraine troops.

Russia is very lucky to have the choice to end this war, if they are stupid enougth to continue Russia could well break down into its many parts & even be invaded by other states eg China., a lot of hatred for Russia (especially the nutters at the top.)

Your posts are solely provocative, you base nothing on fact or experience. What is your agenda?

There is no agenda, the war is all about €£$ nothing more, nothing less. Hence the reason most countries including ourselves are taking a back seat and are somewhat disinterested.

Mr Putin and Mr Biden need to sit down and split the Ukraine assets between their countries, that is what will bring the war to an end. However, I suspect China will also want a share?

I apologise if I do not find happiness in tweets which suggest foreign countries are to supply more arms and tanks to the Ukranian people, as all I see in such posts, is the loss of more innocent Ukrainian lives.

That’s simply not true on many levels.
If the Ukrainians hadn’t had Zelensky to unite the country and the people hadn’t shown so much spirit and determination in defending it, there would have been no military help from the west - end of.

You reckon the Ukrainians are going to stand by while we divi their country up?
You want us to fight them too?

No one wants to see more loss of life, what we want to see is the Ukrainians get the tools to finish the job. This drip feeding of weapons is what wastes lives.

There are too many echo’s of Britain in 1940, which contrary to what you think, is why there is so much support.

Go home Vanya. You are not wanted in Ukraine.

China won't be wanting anything apart from a bigger elbow onto Russia.
You sound so cynical, there's no feeling in your words
Every sensible poster realises there are facets to this that make politicians act the way they sometimes do but the overriding feeling you get, is most wish to aid Ukraine to its own destiny, rather than causing WW3

You're very naive, aren't you.

The Ukrainians would carry on fighting regardless and the civilian deaths, and refugees, would dwarf what they are now.

Is this some sort of sick comment? The Ukrainian people have already witnessed many first hand, what life under the Russian jackboot is like and understandably now see death as a preferable option.

Yet again the UK stupidly blunder in doing the US biding, the Russians will settle for nothing less than control of what they now occupy & will keep fighting, killing & destroying to achieve that, what we have now done by sending UK tanks is given the US a way out of this mess, if other Western countries are stupid enough to follow suit it will very soon become a European fight with Russia with America saying " we've done our bit it's now down to you guys, we've got China to concentrate on" want to bet I'm wrong.

Ukraine is winning. The Russian army is suffering huge infantry casualties.
And if it comes to it Europe is more than capable of taking on Russia in an all arms conflict. Better now than waiting until they're marching up Whitehall.
