So the world is going to be different place when this virus is defeated , business will work much more from home the high street shops will I think decimated by the quicker move to online shopping. And some habits developed over years will change .

On the back this it would seem the government has the ideal opportunity to make some big changes in what we do and how we behave.

so what would you suggest ??

I will kick it off with banning all air travel that does not include at least 7 nights away , I see no point in a long weekend or short break anywhere that includes flying it helps spread disease and does the environment no good so its something we can easily live without .

I dont suppose my second suggestion would be popular
But I would ban supermarkets and shops selling alcohol , if you want a drink go to the pub or go out for meal maybe I would allow a limited number of "off licences" as we used to have but overall I dont think the amount of drink consumed in this country is either healthy for people or or the community or needed . Forcing people back to a pub would be a good way to regain some community spirit and reduce overall intake

There might well be less business travel as many have had to tele conference or video call and might see the benefits and become comfortable. Some of the cultures that prefer face to face business have had to change.

Nothing will change.
In 6 months or so it will be back to “normal”

In recent years we've had MERS, SARS & now COVID19 from China.

Without a doubt it is going to happen again and soon.

SARS has a death rate of 30%, the writing is on the wall. (I think SARS would only be contagous on the 6th day, MERS was spread by Camels).

By normal, I meant that people will be out spending money on stuff they don’t really need like the latest phone or booking their next holiday or or or

The first thing that needs to be done is give these people that can not afford food out of the food chain as free food, in this world to day there should be no one eating bats or rats or any thing like this to survive in the world , things need to start from the bottom & get better for these people & world would be a better place

@robs1 care to tell us what device you sent the above message from?

Nah let's be honest and hopeful. People show a real respect for each other. Give the homeless and addicted the real help and assistance they need, when apparently the money trees are now in existence.

@How much can I use my paraglider?

If they were poor then a lot of animals would be safe .. unfortunately Rhinos & Tigers know otherwise.

Sometimes I just feel sad about this Covid19 stuff .. I'm working away and finding quite a lot of my time is spent thinking about ways around everday problems like food.

A friggin farmer and I'm worried about being short of food in a few months .. fkin hell wtf is going on ..

Anyway tip of the day .. you can use a coffee grinder to turn grain into flour of some sort .. just need to sieve it.

God knows why farmers haven't got a few of their own mills all over the place .. FFS we can do better than this.

Not sure how to take your question, globally or nationally?

Here in the UK we'll see a political consensus to expand the NHS, but probably with wider training of all clinical staff in critical care, than a huge increase in absolute staffing numbers. It's likely that NHS infrastructure will be expanded too, hospitals getting extra 'wings' that can be kept mothballed and brought online at short notice. There will be a recognition that manufacturing, of all types, needs to be encouraged here, rather than farmed out to cheaper foreign places, and there will be a massive boost in publicly funded medical R & D, and probably in general too. I wouldn't be surprised to see a massive charm offensive toward big pharma as well.

Globally, I guess that there will be an internationally funded - really meaning the G20 / First World - high-speed virulogical research facility and a 'world' store of critical care equipment that can be flown to hot spots at need. (although I expect that will happen nationally too)

How many manufacturers in these places have you walked around to give the idea of crap?

Teleconference is no were near as effective as face to face, but agree reductions are needed I think most do it to get away from families.

If I was to change something

It would be leniency on large corporations and how they treat workers. Would also be nice to see a proper day of rest where everyone is off

The Uk Govt need to look at Covid 19 as a warning shot. As a country we need to be as self sufficient as is practically possible. Time to start looking after No1 and forget poking our noses in to everybody else’s business and chucking money at other countries to make ourselves feel/look better.
