Great big buff tailed bumble bees busy this morning - flying in straight lines and not minding if I was in the way. Always makes me smile as it seems impossible they can remain airborne. Hope they found somewhere to hide this afternoon!
Found one on the floor of the bedroom this evening feeling sorry for itself so I put it on a bunch of daffs in the window think it overdosed covered in pollen and pretty sure it’s dead :(

Took 6 of our own lambs to the abattoir last week, just picked up from the butcher- freezer full (y):)! Dogs busy each with a tasty bone in the sunshine :). The young one has never had a bone, had to hold it for her while she worked out that you have to (1) gnaw on it, and the complicated part (2) hold it with your own! paws to keep it still.

I don't particularly like lamb but OH does, I think my favourite part of the whole operation is working out what it costs us, versus what it would cost at the supermarket. A few years ago had a freezer full of beef, used to go sit and stare at entire drawers full of rib-eye, sirloin and rib roasts. Sad really.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
