I was once flew into Hannover airport when they were cutting the grass. They had tractors on a mower, rake and baler all operating in convoy. I guess they were quite restricted on the amount of time they were allowed to be next each runway.Last post was last Wednesday which says a lot about things at the moment. I had to dig back four pages in Agricultural Matters to get to this thread

Probably not a good idea to have loose grass blowing around the runway in the jet exhaust eitherI was once flew into Hannover airport when they were cutting the grass. The look on a Fedex driver's face yesterday when I yelled at him to "Pick it up" as he dropped his lunch wrapper out the van window in our drier gateway. Made a point of photographing the van: no intention of ringing it in (poor bugger is probably on a zero hours contract which might not get renewed), but with a bit of luck it might worry him enough to desist in future.
