While we a wait with bated breath for the next episode here's a look back at the 2013 Black Isle show which turned out to be a good day at the office for the Irvines

I hope they read it, I'd like to engage in a conversation with them about it. Slagging off a product you produce is mad. The sheep I believe are contract farmed? If I was the estate they'd have the contract terminated instantly. I like the couple and the program but that one comment made my blood boil.

Yes We give luck to every buyer, old fashioned thing but it's for luck. It was filmed but was never shown .

What do you think the future holds for your "meat machines" with the current 420kg max deadweight. Which looks like it will soon be reduced to 380kg. Will they get them fat at those weights?

Just been watching this on catch up the past couple of days. Still got a couple more to see but just read this thread from start to finish.

@Juggler is right. Hardly a negative comment about the entire show and would say of all the people in it @farmermartin is the best at clearly explaining what is going on and why to the viewers so he shouldn't let himself get hung up about anything on here.

The producers did a brilliant job in selecting the farmers. All doing a great job of what they do but all different enough from each other to make it both interesting and entertaining. Must have been some amount of filming done to get 12 one hour shows out of it.

How is the calving going ? seen you had a few problems but how is it going over all ? do you find Limmys more difficult to calve than they use to be, some say they are but I always thought easy calving was one of the attractions to them
They do look some nice quiet animals

Calving just away to start again, so fingers crossed !! Limousin is a breed Noted for easy of calving , confirmation and length . But competition is high an for anyone to be at the winning end prizes and £££ you need to be pushing growth and performance in your breeding to compete. This come hand in hand with troubled calving. We don't mind calving cows as long as we don't get stuck. Jumbo was a freak case an the other 2 were perfect for me.

But you right weight this is a joke getting as it takes time to change breeding to adapt to wat there wanting . But I can only see the limmy winning from this because out of all the breeds the limmy can be finished to this Weight an still grade out at the top. We're others breeds are going struggle to get The confirmation at the weights needed.
